2-Day Couples Weekend Workshop

A workshop guiding couples on a path toward a harmonious and long-lasting relationship.

THE SEVEN PRINCIPLES PROGRAM FOR COUPLES*

Do you have difficulty communicating and understanding each other?

Are you stuck, arguing in circles about the same issues?

Are you in a good relationship and would like to make it even better?

Is laying a strong foundation from the beginning important to you?

Or, perhaps the friendship between the two of you is not as strong as it was in the beginning.

What if.....

I told you that I had a secret weapon for your relationship woes and dreams? That it would add longevity to your relationship. Create a friendship that can go the distance.  Enhance romance and intimacy.  Not only that but it would have you approaching and handling conflict in a new and intimate way. A way that afforded you the opportunity to dive into your partners life, gain understanding and insight and actually resolve conflicts.

You might be thinking no way!

And if such a thing did exist it would take so much time and energy that I couldn’t make it a yes even if I wanted to. Let alone convince my partner.  But, entertain me for a minute. There’s a workshop called The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work, that takes all the difficulty out of it.

  • it breaks down major relationship concepts,

  • gives you new insights and research-based relationship skills that can dramatically improve the intimacy and friendship in your relationship

  • it combines teaching and demonstrations with one-on-one work sessions where you and your partner focus on your relationship with each other

  • helps you resolve conflict in a healthy and productive way

  • teaches skills in a fun, engaging and easy to understand way

  • gives you practical ways of applying techniques into your relationship immediately

Oh, and did I mention it’s cheaper than doing couples therapy and divorce. Not that I’m knocking couples therapy because ummm hello I’m a couples therapist.  But, as a couples therapist I’ve seen couples in my office that didn’t need the intensity of couples therapy instead they needed to learn relatioship skills, gain perspective attain knowledge and acquire tools.  I’ve also seen others that if they had done a workshop way back when they first started seeing signs of distress they wouldn’t have gotten to the point of needing couples therapy.  Gottman's research shows that on average, couples wait six years of being unhappy with their relationship before getting help. That's like waiting six years with cancer before seeking medical care. Please don't wait until your relationship is falling apart to get help.

For over 30 years Dr. Gottman scientifically analyzed the habits of married couples and established a method of correcting the behaviors that put thousands of marriages on the rocks. He helps couples focus on each other and the small day-to-day moments that, strung together, make up the heart and soul of any relationship.

This workshop is designed to strengthen your marriage or committed relationship. If you already have a strong relationship, this workshop will provide you with insights and tools to make it even better. If your relationship is distressed, this workshop will provide a road map for repair.

Be proactive and learn what decades of research teach us about healthy relationships.

Yvette E. McDonald, LCSW, is an authorized Seven Principles Program Educator who will lead the workshop and teach you what successful couples specifically do to create long-lasting loving relationships, as well as the benefits of a stable, committed relationship.
