Integrative Mental Health
A root-cause approach to emotional wellness through nutrition, neuroscience, and sustainable lifestyle change.
What is Integrative Mental Health?
Integrative Mental Health looks at the whole person: mind, body, and nervous system. To understand what’s driving emotional patterns and psychological distress. Rather than simply managing symptoms, you'll explore with counselor Yvette the root causes of anxiety, depression, irritability, fatigue, and overwhelm. That often means looking beyond talk therapy and into areas like:
-
Blood sugar balance & nutrient intake
-
Hormonal influences on mood
-
Gut-brain connection
-
Inflammation & brain fog
-
Nervous system regulation
-
Lifestyle rhythm, sleep, and movement
This approach is especially helpful for those who feel like “traditional therapy isn’t enough,” or who suspect that physical health and emotional well-being are more connected than they’ve been told.
How Nutrition & Lifestyle Support Mental Health
Nutrient deficiencies, dysregulated blood sugar, food sensitivities, and chronic stress all impact how we feel and how we function. For many of my clients, small but intentional shifts in diet and daily rhythm make a noticeable difference in:
-
Emotional regulation
-
Energy and focus
-
Sleep quality
-
Anxiety and mood stability
-
Resilience during stress or hormone transitions
You don’t have to be perfect. This isn’t about restrictive diets, it’s about becoming a student of your own body and learning what nourishes you.

"What you eat doesn't just fuel your body, it shapes your mood, your clarity, and your capacity to cope. The gut is called the second brain for a reason. When it's inflamed, depleted or imbalanced, your mental health feels it first."
What This Looks Like in Practice
During our sessions with Counselor Yvette, I may incorporate any of the following (as clinically appropriate):
This is a COLLABORATIVE process not a prescription. I move at your pace and focus on strategies that feel doable and supportive, not overwhelming.
Who This Is For:
-
Individuals with neurodivergence (autism, ADHD, sensory sensitivity)
-
Those navigating hormonal shifts (perimenopause, postpartum, cycles)
-
Highly sensitive people feeling overwhelmed or emotionally drained
-
Parents of kids struggling with regulation, meltdowns, or mood swings
-
Anyone curious about how food, inflammation, or blood sugar may be impacting their mental health
I work best with clients who are done with surface-level fixes. They’re ready to dig deeper, understand what’s really going on beneath their mood swings, meltdowns, cravings, or chronic stress and they want a therapist who sees the whole picture, not just a diagnosis.
